Red,White, Blue

Red, white, blue

What do they mean to you?

Fourth of July or Death in the corner of my eye?

Fear in my mind or flag-waving high?

Independence for her and not for you

Why am I scared of red, white, and blue?

Hands glued onto the wheel

“Don’t let one finger peel”

Bullet wounds take forever to heal

So many colors live in red, white and blue

Why won't white mix with black or red, or yellow

I don’t want grey

I don’t want to be afraid

No more no more
