Oh the joy of today's society.

Old ladies sit near the filth of the opened smelly garbage cans

And listen to the vulgar conversations of the youth in Burger-to-Go.

And always acting as if it had never been they who were once young, wild, and free teens.

History is a CD,

Always repeating itself after the last song has played/

It's like teens asking for, no demanding drinks at the oh-so-popular burger joint.

They consistently get refills and refills

Sometimes, no, most of the time

without a please.

My favorite part of this poem was explaining that history is like a CD. It always repeats itself as a CD does at the end of the last song. No matter how much we evolve, we always take a dip back into things and people that came before us for inspiration.
