Reflection

You speak in pictures

Moving with each dancing stroke

Your words flowing in every sentence

Like the beat of hidden drum

Your smile sweet and kind

That of an innocent child

Your eye’s tired and cold

Filled with years upon years

I speak in rhyme

Moving with each pressing word

My words echoing in the minds

Like a song from long ago

My smile hidden and scared

Something so rarely seen

My eye’s focused and content

For in you I see what I can never be

You are free…
