Reflection

I stare the mirrors constantly

only to catch a glimpse of myself

I stare at the reflection that looks at me

only to see a stranger everyday

I stare at women, girls changing all the time

only to see a plastic standing in front of me

I stare at my bestfriend who has almost all the beauty you can think of

only to hear her complain about her tiny nose being too big

I stare at the mirror when i would come home from school crying

only to see my fat reflection with the horrible beauty i had

I stare at my new self big hips small everything else

only to still be called fat

I stare in the mirror when I put my makeup on

only to be called pretty with it

I stare in the mirror when I take it off

only to stare at the ugly reflection that looks at me

But once my makeup is off and alone in my room without the whole world:

without their judgment

without having to resist having to bite my tongue

without wanting to tear off my ears

Of the constant criticism that someone gives or to one self

It is then when I look at my reflection in peace and say to my self it is okay.
