Reflection

I am the mirror.

I wonder why you look at me if you hate what you see.

I hear you condemning your body.

I want you to see that all trash is my treasure.

I am the utility of your self-loathing.

I pretend you see you the same way I do.

I feel your eyes staring back at yourself.

I touch on the little things that you don’t like.

I dream of a time when you need me no longer.

I hope that nobody ever does.

I love it when nobody needs my approval.

I am not the one who you ask how you look…

That’s you.
