Reflection

I look back, after all these years, Trials, tribulations, and most of all tears, I look in the mirror and stare into his lonely eyes, With each passing day he grows more wise, I look into a reflection and I’m surprised to see, The younger version staring straight back at me, It’s amazing how at the end of the day, We have that one person who makes us feel special in some way, I look forward to the future and all it holds, Spending it with my friends who are worth more than gold, I look at my surroundings and I’m amazed, How one can stay strong without being fazed, I look into my heart and I see who has been there, I see every single person who has ever cared, My heart leaps for joy when my friends are glad, But it grieves for them whenever they’re sad, I look at myself for all that I’m worth, I’ve been destined to help ever since birth.
