Reflection

Looking at my reflection I can see the reflection of my mother Smiling on the outside While hurting undercover As the tears drop and into my heart the pain seeps I can feel the stinging that pounds within every heartbeat Thinking about the present I reminisce about the past I believed little of the truth The lies I soaked up were vast My soul longs for freedom But my spirit restricts me Loving memories have the most pain That's what conflicts me I'm the product of insanity Past partially insane Swerving in every direction I can't seem to stay in my lane I'm on a roller coaster ride Experiencing this thing called life And the only way to experience blessings Is to experience this thing called strife So Jesus take the wheel And steer me in the way I should go Give me direction And feet that are willing to follow _Dakyria Dudley ©
