Reflections

I'm falling in a minefield of mirrors.

I escape collision with each one,

but I can't escape my reflection.

I'm in a freefall,

yet gravity is quiet,

my body calm.

I pass a mirror I'm smiling in.

I like what I see.

Fit. Skinny.

But it's only fleeting.

I gracefully drop to the next mirror.

The smile is gone.

I'm fit.

No wait.

I'm fat.

The mirror dissappears.

The freefall continues.

This time, I want one of the mirrors to shatter.

Then the glass pieces would fly at me,

ripping my skin apart until I was only bones.
