Reflections of the Pool

A flash of light, a twist of sound,

9:02 a moment inbound.

As I arise from the lake of fire,

Timothy McVeigh’s face perspires.

I win! I win! He cries,

The Government! The Government Dies!

Below the demons skip and play

Leaving a trail of chaos in their wake.

Horror overtakes my mind and soul

As I rise to the heavens above.

But as my faith begins to forsake,

A wave of peace my soul betake.

Fifteen years of time has past

Across me stands a pond of glass.

As those who have lost one,

Or even those who have lost none,

Come to pay tribute to us,

Using the walls and floors as a canvas.

Around me sit my eternal friends

As we transcend between this life and the next.

Merely floating above the ground.

Why did this happen to us?

For that there is no rhymes nor reasons.
