Refuse to Conform
What is in this world for a man of color like myself ? Society has taken my name and embedded it in the walls of a jail cell, hung it from a rope of deception , and beat it to a pulp where it is no longer recognized, but my tolerance is exceptional for which I live through those who suffered to inspire to better as a man of African descent in America. Like many of the great black men that lived before me, I have power, that holds righteousness to my title that cannot be taken away. Now is the time to take my place as a leader, where I will be able to inspire the many young men who are in this lost society. The media misconstrued what it means to be a successful man, with all of the drugs, and violence that is portrayed, there is no encouragement being displayed. So you ask me am I a color rock? Indeed I am- made within the Earth, brown, smooth, and ready to withstand the conditions around me. I want to add my piece of life to this country, while sharing , customs, ideas, knowledge, and interests. Nothing is more powerful than the energy that we put out in the world. The best thing about me is, there are no limits. I’m excited about what I can bring to society, I want to put an end to negligence and diffuse civil tension. Are my efforts impossible? Of course not. Those who have made great accomplishments may not have had full support, on the contrary their ideas came to pass, and that is what is important. My success is not based on my appearance or how I am perceived, but my perseverance , strength and faith for which I hold.
