Regeneration

I take some time from everyday, To wonder where life will lead, Decisions come and choices made, Laugh with joy, yet still I bleed. To walk alone among the many, Do good deeds that come to naught, Enjoy the thrill; share the love, But still I find myself distraught. The endless drumming, mind-numbing silence, Glory days without a muse, New memories to replace the old, Independence and acceptance: Nothing to lose. Blinding shadows, muted rays, Support and compassion have emerged, Wasted hours always running, Despair and doubt that must be purged. A brighter tomorrow starts with steps today, Where faceless strangers light the path of stone, Reflection may paralyze, but others speak, A friendly reminder: You are not alone
