REGRET

EVERYDAY I LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND HATE WHAT I SEE WHO I REALLY AM IS LOST SOMEWHERE IN ME. I’VE MADE MISTAKES WHEN I DIDN’T LISTEN TO MY HEART NOW EVERYTHING IMPORTANT HAS QUICKLY FALLEN APART. I’M SORRY THESE WORDS I SCREAM OUT! LOOKING BACK I REALIZE I SHOULD’VE TAKEN ANOTHER ROUTE. IN MY QUEST TO FIND MY IMPORTANCE SEEKING MY WORTH IN LOVE QUICKLY REMINDS ME I MEAN NOTHING TO EVERYONE. I’M NOT WORTH THE EFFORT. OF FORGIVENESS OR UNDERSTANDING. WHO I AM ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH NOT EVEN FOR ASSISTANCE IN MY LANDING. EVERYDAY I AVOID THE MIRROR PRETENDING I DON’T FEEL SADNESS AND REGRET. NO MATTER WHAT I TELL MYSELF I CAN NEVER FORGIVE OR FORGET.

I love this! IT kind of reminds me of myself and that's kind of crazy! It's really, really good.

This is a good poem. It's very powerful. Don't forget, though, that your poems don't have to rhyme. It took me a long time to really get the hang of it, but poetry can flow, and often more powerfully, when the meaning and intentions aren't hindered by forced rhyming. Just a thought.
