Regret

The moment I saw you I felt my heart flutter and when we talked I would always stutter How could you make me feel this way, even when we don't have much to say? It might have been your hair, you had this habit of tossing it when it flew everywhere. It could've been your laugh, my heart would stop for a beat and a half. But I believe it was your eyes, their thoughtful look took me by surprise. It's hard to imagine why my heart fell for you, like a star falling in the sky. A year goes by without progress, both too shy to start much of a conversation, though seeing you still triggered a tingling sensation. We eventually drift apart and become more distant, I wish we could go back for an instant, to where it was easier, to where it was simpler.
