Regret and Redemption

Look into the water Tell me what you see As the ripples fade I'm staring back at me My timid eyes That hide my lies grow bigger There are scars Etched in my face Physical reminders of my disgrace I close my eyes and try to forget Through my reflection I am attacked by the past Unwanted recollection attacks The life I've left behind me Will be washed from me I know love lasts Lying in the flow of the water surrounding I think of forgiveness Oh how astounding To think I could ever be Free from regret Free from fear Free from debt I lift my head and cry aloud Forgive my sins I am found

I cannot write poetry unless I aim deep. Aim for the soul. Aim for the Heart. Aim for the Sadness. Aim for the Humanity. And last but not least aim for the Redemption of Humanity.
