The Reject

You didn’t ask if I had plans for the night but I was ready to answer “no”,

You spent time with people that you said that you didn’t even know.

But now I know that you would spend more time with others than with me,

All the others instead of answering my silent pleas.

You said you would always be there for whatever I need,

I just need a friend but all you’re doing is mislead.

I’m afraid to call, afraid to speak up in fear of you saying what you always do,

When it comes to having friends I thought I always knew.

I would never have friends, not of the sorts everyone else has,

Someone to turn to and to talk to and all of that jazz.

So now I know where I stand with the others,

Stuck at the bottom, with more rejects of another’s.
