A Rejection of Doubt

Dreaded Doubt,

My spiteful slave driver

How clever you are

The cause of nearly every scar

You've told me that I'm worthless,

You've told me that I'm dumb,

But worst of all, you've made me feel numb.

You've made me feel weak;

You've made me lay low

But now it's my time to tell you no.

Now is my time,

I'll have you no more,

I'm pushing you, shoving you out of my door.

Now, when you're defeated

I'll know what to say

If ever again you stand in my way.

I won't doubt myself,

I'll remember this moment,

But I will doubt my doubt, my foolish opponent.
