When your hair isn’t brushed and your teeth are stained yellow

And when you look silly while wearing a too tight dress

I feel the need to remind you of your failures

Like that class you did not pass

And how you aren’t good enough

That this is how a mother is supposed to behave

You will understand when you are a parent

But this is not what I want in our relationship
