Reliable Friends
My reliable friends line the wall
Of a crowded room
They stand straight and tall
And when words fail
Their music speaks
It’s not easy when some don’t answer
No matter
How loud you seem to be talking
They don’t hear you
Are you saying anything?
Doubt fills your head when stares become glares
And the people you once thought were
Are not anymore
They left you in the dust
To rust
Away all the metal shine
You once shown
But the line at the wall
Stands tall and true
They will never leave you
Because the neck is the extent of their bodies
Believe me I don’t know much more than you
Tell me
Something
A secret
A story
Remind me why words sound good
Rather than sounds of a melody
From my best buddy
Standing up against the wall
They don’t speak much
Just listen
Their words come out in song
I just provide the lyrics
To the life
I live
To the reliable friends
In a line
Against the wall
Of a now Empty room
