Religion

sweetheart,
please tell me you don’t still revisit those lies

trust me,
i know how good they felt to hear while he stared in your eyes
but you need to stop repeating those mantras
and revisiting his temple

he is not your safe place
he is not your god

please don’t tell me you define yourself by what he had written in your book
for his bible doesn’t speak words of truth
it’s blasphemy

you are more than your curves
and the pleasure you gave to him
so stop bowing down at his alter
as if he will bless you with eternal life

open your eyes sheep
he is the snake
ready to devour all of the pureness you offer him

you are more than the lies he whispers in your ear
know how worthy you are of this truth
it will set you free.
