Remarkable me

Jealous girls say it's because of my pretty eyes

Boys I've turned down says it's because of my thick thighs.

These all are lies and I must advise

that it's not a slim waist, my lip gloss taste,
or the assumption my trust is misplaced
that makes people do a double take.

We were all born unique,
and even with experience and age,
our identity doesn't change
and although it may seem strange
it's such a simple technique.

You see, your opinion does not change my mind,
you're advice will not be my guide.
I must not quiver in fear,
I refuse to shed a tear.
Allow me to be distinctive, I am as bold as I appear.

Your remarks do not shake me,
I am as remarkable as the sea.
I make sounds that soothe,
but can conjure waves that move,
Anyone who knows me will agree.

I'm not as famous as Brad Pitt
nor am I the girl everyone's slept with.
But I impact lives daily,
and navigate through life gayly,
They only talk about people like me myths.

My happiness is not up to you,
20/20 lens can not change my view
towards my reflection; how I admire myself
You can not buy self love even with all the wealth.

My worth comes from within,
because I am more than soft brown skin
or someone who you tell jump and responds  "say when."
I am not a force to be reckoned
Or someone who settles for second.
I am so precedent you'd think I was on of the deadliest sins.
