Remember when getting high meant swinging on the playground The only thing that hurt you were skinned knees When protection meant wearing a helmet The only drug you knew was cough medicine Lollipops turn into cigarettes The innocent ones turned into players Homework goes in the trash Mobiles are being used in class Detentions turn into suspensions Soda becomes vodka Remember when all we wanted to do was grow up?

It won't let me change the name. I'm JamiLeigh and this poem is simply exactly what it talks about growing up and all of the things that we face as we get older.
