Remember

I see with my eyes,

Hear with my ears,

Taste with my tongue,

Feel with my skin.

Every gesture, touch,

Feeling, sound, flavor, smell,

I don’t remember

The things we use to do.

I don’t remember,

Even the little I thought I would.

Should I miss what I can’t see,

What I can’t touch?

If Poe removed my eyes

and Van Gogh removed my ears,

I still could not remember

Things I’ve had for years

I do remember your harsh words,

More than the loving moments.

Our fights pierce my daydreams,

And I try to rewrite our story.

When I miss you,

I remember your flaws.

I erase you joyful feelings,

Only to forget you once more.
