As you get older You will start the transformation into adulthood, Remember to mind your manners Remember to go to sleep at bedtime Remember to forget about the monsters in your head Stop checking under your bed Remember to never be silly in public Remember to stop playing with your food Shaping your mashed potatoes into castles Creating a world only known to you Remember to stop watching cartoons Stop giggling about minor occurrences that others deem inappropriate Remember to lose trust in everyone Because they are learning to lose trust in you too Remember to stop making up stories Stories that u conjured in mere minutes with your little bitty brain Remember to come inside and do ur work Instead of playing wild in the dirt Remember to mind ur manners Remember to be on time and never let anything fun hold u up Remember all of this because soon you will be an adult And you won't have to remember any of it after all.
