Remember

Remember when we sat there broken Pouring out confessions of pain Remember when I let you down And when you did the same Remember when I held you while you cried Do you remember how I was the one to blame? I was so ashamed, I’d hide But so happy I could die A terrible contradiction, love is a game Remember how happiness faded to pain And the tears they come, they fall down On down your face as you begin to drown Now these tears pour down my face, I can’t hold it in Then you hold me, so sincere, in the warmest embrace I’ve ever been in Remember when you said, you’re no good and you’re going to Hell But you’re misunderstood, you’re only an angel who’s fell Cause you are the sweetest one I know Now here we are Here I am I’m still here I stare into your soul Looking for ways to make you whole Darling do you know how sorry I really am? No you don’t But I can’t quite say I know the agony you endured Mistakes are unavoidable Apologies are useless Hate is senseless Love is inseparable Now here we are Here I am I’m still here You poured your heart out to me Is it half full or half empty? I just want to pick you up every time you fall apart But promise me, come back in my life, and heal my broken heart So do you remember when we sat there broken Pouring out confessions of pain I look into your big brown eyes And you look onto mine Can’t tell the truth from the lies But perhaps in time So please tell me What do you really see? Is it my apology, my mistake? My love or my hate? Or these smiles I fake? Stare into my soul Peer into my heart Try to make me whole I’ll try to make you whole What do you remember? Or do you try to forget?
