Remember
Remember when...
Friends never betrayed to you.
Getting high meant on the swings.
Your mom was your hero and your dad was the only guy in your life.
The only thing boys gave you were cooties.
The most painful thing in the world was scraping your knee.
Race issues were about who could run faster.
War was only a card game.
Wearing protection meant wearing your helmet.
The only mistakes we made were erasable.
Saying goodbye meant only until tomorrow.
The girl that wore a skirt was not called a slut.
The only thing that could be broken were toys.
The only thing we smoked were our tires.
Your dads shoulders were the highest place on earth.
You spent your summer catching lightning bugs.
The only drug we knew of was cough medicine.
Your worst enemies were your siblings.
The only thing you drank was chocolate milk.
And remember when all we ever dreamed about was growing up.
I would give anything to be a little kid again.
