Remember the Changes
People don’t change who they are. It’s an empty phrase. Do you agree?
Perhaps I should clarify.
People cannot shift or mold, transform themselves into someone they are not. We don’t wake up in the morning with the body of a stranger safety-pinned to our nerves, attached to our memories. We physically can’t do that.
Interestingly however, we can change within ourselves. We have the illustrious ability to self-improve, overcoming our imperfections. With even a thin whisper of a comment, we can immediately change how we act, but it’s remembering each of these changes that so many of us forget to do.
It only takes a few words to force someone to rethink their actions. See, humans have flaws. We can’t predict how light will affect an object, where the shadows will be. We can’t remember detail. We only notice when the details have changed. Some even insist that dying, in itself, is a human flaw.
Deliberately, can you eliminate your most debilitating flaws by tomorrow?
“It’s easy enough.” Is that what you’re thinking? “I can do this.” Well good, you’re confident. You’ll have to be. You’ll have to be more conscious though. Be aware. Life will never be about finding oneself. It’s about creating oneself.
When most people don’t change, it’s the few that do who become valuable. Go ahead. Tomorrow, remember who you were today as you live vivaciously. Find life under your fingernails, remember, breathe, and change consciously.
