Remember December

Remember December in all it's splendor

The way you held me

My body surrendered

A love so gentle

My body so tender

Yearning for you

Our last December

I thought your piece was very sad. Not sad in the sense "you guys are apart that's so sad" but the contrast of a past December (warm and safe) and a present December (an emptiness). I also thought the contradictory nature of the poem was excellent as well; December, the winter month, is made warm by [fill in blank]. I think the references to "tender", "yearning", and seasonal change (implied by going from one December to a another) is why the "poet similarity" option compared you to Shakespeare; however, longinging is a much older emotion, a raw and deeply human longing that is. I really enjoyed your short piece. Q.V.
