Remember Me
They won't remember me
I'm the shadow they glimpsed
Small talk
I'm just that girl they saw
I'm a leaf on a rose plant
They saw the rose
But never saw the leaves
I'm like the beautiful pattern on wasps' wings
They only see the stinger
I do want a legacy
But I am not the main character
In any story but mine
I am not a hero
The world has made that obvious
The only person I can save is myself
Give me a pen and I'll write
But don't make me wield a weapon
Cause that's not my legacy
And I don't know what is
But someday some one will notice me
Remember me
And somehow
My legacy will not be in my hands
But in theirs
