The granite green countertop, the surface holding the anticipated delight.
Mouth watering scent, that tempted one to take a bite.
The forbidden treat that could not be eaten before dinner
If caught nibbling ,thou would be scorned like a sinner.
From ball games outside to watching Cartoon Network
Carefree living, no worries of Debts, or Check work.
Time moved slow and adults were giants
Children often acted out immaturely and defiant.
Homework was 10 questions max,
Plenty of time to go outside play, and relax.
Before Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
There was no cyber bullying and no one was bitter.
A time where chips were 25 cents
Soda was 75
To young to go in the deep end
and 3 feet is to shallow to dive.
When looking back and savoring all of these memories,
My inner child Screams out "Please, Remember Me".
