Remember Spring

Remember when we were young,
Remember the faces of friends, of foes,
     the faces long gone.
Remember what was once known,
Remember Spring in the sun,
   in the rain, in the light, in the shadows.
Reminisce in the warm rays,
   in the breeze that blew
   in the birds that sang
   in the leaf that grew
   in the victories, and in the losses.
Remember also the storm that brewed.,
   the Autumn's arrival, the Winter foreshadowed.
Remember how everything slipped away
   like the melting snow swept it elsewhere
   and how all the birds finally flew away.
