Remember When

Do you remember when-

        finding a penny made you rich?

        you just had to know how to count to 100?

        you actually got toys on Christmas?

        your parents picked what you wore?

        the hardest thing you had to read was The Red Dog?

        every little girl had a Prince Charming waiting for her?

        we would all one day be the president?

Do you remember when-

        getting high meant going high on a swing?

        marriage came before the baby carriage?

        lying was just about stealing from the cookie jar?

        the question ‘how far did you go?’

                  was asking how far you rode your bike?

        weed was an icky plant?

        cheating was lying during Go Fish?

        gun fights were done with Nerf guns?

        bombs were made of balloons and water?

        drugs were a nasty tasting liquid that 

                  your parents made you take when you were sick?

        war was just a card game?
