we were alone together?

You pretended to forget it was Valentine's Day

and I pretended I was okay with being alone.

That night I knew, I'd rather be with you.

 

Remember when we went for a walk

under the full moon, just us two?

Something moved in the bushes

and I turned into you for comfort.

That was when I knew I trusted you.

 

Remember when we drove down the coast

because I had homework and you

just wanted to be with me?

That was the first time I saw

what we could have together.

 

Remember when I stayed over that first night?

You never touched me, not physically,

but that night you took part of me,

though feeling it missing burns like acid,

I'm glad to know you have it.

 

There are more memories,

some I've already forgotten,

and some I'll never let go.

Part of me just wants to make sure you know,
