Remembered

Imagine a young man alone Half asleep on top of this bleak abyss All day he’d been working like a locomotive He thinks aloud I only have two hands, but they want me to do everything He reaps little benefit from the work he does And the little he does get He didn’t want at first He didn’t feel as if he needed it Because he couldn’t find use for it But he remembers what his father told him years ago Make use of the things around you So he took the things anyway Just to justify his work And make himself believe what he did could help everyone Or anyone Or someone That what he does is actually important So he could believe it too
