Remembering Me

The love of my life,

We were meant to be.

The first time around,

Clingy, Never ending love.

It didn’t work out.

Now apart,

focusing on me.

becoming the person,

I realize is me.

Yet he is always there.

In my mind.

Always there.

Focusing on friends,

Wanting me back.

They missing me,

I missing them.

That clingy relationship,

Between us no more.

Yet he is always there.

In my mind.

Always there.

Life becomes whole,

Regains it’s meaning.

Becoming a new person,

Happy and full of light.

Yet he is still always there.

In my mind.

Always there.

He finds me again,

Realizing what he is missing.

The love of my life,

coming back to me.

Hard work pays off.

No more emptiness,

Looming in my chest.

He makes me whole,

He wants for me the best.

The lesson learned,

Of what needs to be done.

I can be happy now,

In more ways than one.

It all starts by remembering me.
