Remembering You

When I see others smile,

I think of your own

Gazing at beautiful sights

as if, you were by my side

Holding you in my arms,

kissing gently as breezes

makes our hair strands

press against our faces

After our darkest times,

soft words were spoken

It was love,

any being would cherish

to experience and immerse in

I always tried my hardest,

to make every moment with you

worth everything I ever lived

You brought me,

such joy and laughter

In these silent moments,

of pure beauty

they remind of your spirit

how you always were

Our fingers slid into each other’s hands,

we stood in silence

after our loving promise

I could remember so many things,

like how your eyes used to

light up in my presence

and lightly traced my knees

with your delicate hands

as though you knew

it was the right time to do so

That is no more,

you weren’t

what I thought you would be

Your love was deeper

than any ocean

It used to be refreshing,

but now it is only

an illusion to forget

You won’t always be mine,

my hopes, my dreams

our promise has come to an end

My heart won’t bare anymore,

forever goodbye

my dear lost love.

This poem is bittersweet like a chocolate covered pretzel. Keep writing my friend.
