Remembrance

O how the past can make us smile

as memories show their face.

Ours lights up for a little while

then joy returns to its case.

Back into reality we dive

though we are better because.

In remembrance our lives can now thrive,

learning by taking a pause.

Do these flashes enrich or betray,

can we really ever know?

Throughout life they will all fall away

so be thankful when they show.

When at first those instances bring joy

and cause you to forget pain,

what matters is that you now employ,

and you use them for your gain.
