In Remembrance
When I lay my head against my pillow at night,
I think of things that make me happy and I think of you.
I think of that one good memory, which curls my lips into a smile,
Remembering all that your are.
Then I remember that I can no longer be with you.
A tear escpaes me even though I tell myself I shouldn't be sad.
When I close my eyes, I feel you are there with me.
The warmth of your love carrying me into a world of endless possibilities.
And when the sun begins to rise, and lull me into the day,
There is a moment.
A moment of which my eyes are closed.
A place between the dreams and reality, that is where you are,
And that is where I leave you.
Your beauty and radiance making waking up even harder,
Makes remembering your absense that much more worse to bear,
But when I begin to miss you,
I think of that place between the day and dreams,
And I cannot wait to meet you there.
