Reminder to Myself


Please take care of yourself

Slow down when your body aches and your heart hurts

Release the need to give all of yourself to everyone, fiercely grip your precious little bits to yourself, clutch them as tight as you can and run, run from the desire to give and give and give until you can't anymore and your a tired exasperated tiny meek husk

You're thick bark on an ancient  tree

You're gnarled and intricate vines in the very center of a swamp

You're a newly discovered species of beetle whose shell can withstand being run over by a car and coming out the other side bruised but unharmed

YYou're soft and rigid and everything in between
