Reminisce

Silence.

A thought drifts within my mind.

A face, an image, a sound, a noise.

Laughter, beyond the confines of my mind.

Stuck in place, tortured and imprisoned.

But no one is around me. What is this pain I feel?

My thoughts continue.

Darkness envelops my eyes.

The world has no more to offer me.

The images flash before the back of my eye-lids, savoring each and every one. But once they pass, discontent.

Happiness, just within reach, leaves me stuck in the bottom of a cavern which I cannot escape.

Light shines from above, eviscerating all sanity and then the realization that there is no escape. Imprisoned by self-imposition, unmovable due to fear.

I open my eyes.

Padded walls.
