Wake up in the morning,

It’s a simple routine.

Put on those clothes

you picked the night before.

Draw something beautiful,

On the canvas that is your face

Thank God for that Kuza

That works so well with your now tamable hair

Walk into the big building,

The one place with so many unfamiliar faces,

And so many of the faces you love.

This place is like home.

The first bell rings,

You say bye to your friends.

Your long day begins, one class at a time

The last bell rings,

But your day almost never ends there.

It’s a different club every day,

And after, there are sports.

You wrestle on clothes after practice,

Grab all your bags, and race through the halls.

Every day she asks for the same thing,

Every day you have to search for it,

Your school I.D.

Before your stop,

She looks up at you and you nod.

It always takes some time to grab all those bags and go.

You drop everything,

Did you remember your keys this morning?

They’re in the same spot,

The same spot as always.

You open the door and walk down the stairs.

Before the second door opens,

You can smell it throughout the house.

You open the second door and greet your family.

Exhausted, you dump your school bag on the couch,

Your sports bag however, requires a few extra steps.

Take a seat at the table, throw down some juice,

And wait for dinner to be ready.

Fun time is over.

Grab your agenda and wonder if you’ll get any sleep tonight.

Go through your day in your head,

How much homework for tonight?

You look at the time, it’s already 8.

Between AP’s and honors classes,

You have a long night ahead of you.

Finally you’re done,

It’s time for bed.

You lay out tomorrows outfit,

And get in bed.

Wake up in the morning,

It’s a simple routine.

Repeat.

Very well put together, and this could definitely sum up my week. A daily rutine that has to be followed, I can relate! Great Job :D
