Repercussions of the Gods
Off the top of a cliff, in the middle of a thick forest
Drop by drop, golden liquid pours forth until a river runs over
Over into a creek, now such a divine sight
Bedrocks shaped like hearts are sitting along the shore
A pool filling up, growing deeper with swelling emotions
Two swans sitting on the surface, foreheads pressed together, each with a single black feather
Surrounding trees spew out the corpse of a wild bear, now void of any pride and glory
Vultures enter for the prize on the shore
To pick at flesh and look for more
Another sacrifice appears there
Blood dripping from a boar, staining the rocks and leaking into the golden pond
Crimson coloring now sparkles and shines with the sunlight
Sun sitting in it’s hottest hour; sun brings the pond to a boil
Heat growing in the breasts of those birds, still they’ll love each other until they’re gone
A fire fueled by the light and heat brings the trees and creatures to defeat
Those stone hearts now the only mementos of a beautiful environment
All because the Gods loved the light so much that they never thought about what the heat may do to such a glorious sight
