Repression
All my life I have tried to succeed
But my past keeps reminding me
That I don’t have a lot of support
Give up your dreams and abort
Those lies keep filling my head
Making it hard to get out of bed
The constant struggle is near
Feeding on all my fear
I don’t want to give up and fail
But what oh what does that entail
To disengage from the world I know
But then what will I have to show
My pride and respect in tact
I won’t give up I’ll fight back
I’ll make a life for my kin
Pulling from my strength within
I’ll teach them to follow their dreams
To resist the devils schemes
To hold their heads up high
Listen up this is my battle cry
Nobody can keep me down
No, nobody will keep me down
