Republican's Red Glare

Sun, 05/07/2017 - 23:55 -- MLM99

Yes, I can see, not by the dawn’s early light,

But by a smirk from a Speaker of the House.

A smirk that just escaped a crime of murder.

I do not proudly hail a man who has

Violated the privacy of a woman,

And placed that hand on a bible.

A Republican’s red glare that

Simply glances over detrimental health care,

Signing the rights of his sister Americans away.

The bombs bursting in the sky and the

Eyes of a mother who can no longer shield the

Faces of her children.

The land that restricts my freedom because I am

Called Woman. The home of greedy men who

Use their left to violate and their right to swear in.

But, O, let that star-spangled banner wave.

My country
