Requesting Awareness

The cold wind caresses your face as you feel your cheeks blush with warmth

The crisp smell of pine and fresh water skims the tip of your nose

The tumble and rubbing of small rocks underfoot

Peaceful can’t even begin to describe the tranquility that overrides your state of mind

The sun shines over the towering trees to the other side of the lake like a golden beam reflecting off the water and relighting the sky

If I could stand as still as the trees no one would ever find me

Hearing the calls of birds responding to each other as if singing one note tells an entire story

The serpent sound of tall grass swaying in the wind

The soft gentle ripples slipping over the rocks

The tiniest scamper of a chipmunk searching for its next meal

Barren, hallow trees lay surrounded by bright yellow and green bushes with tips of fur and flower blossoms

Rocks carved out as if to hold the green moss that blankets the surface

Shallow is the shore which most tend to reside on

Only those curious to know what could be lurking behind the intimidating pines

Will conceive the knowledge the earth, itself, leaves for human kind
