The Requirements of Love

I've been single for my entire life
At least as far as being official goes
I've always been told I'll need a wife
Or a husband. But that, they didn't know
-
But why are we fed that this is required?
Is it really impossible to be happy alone?
I honestly enjoy being free of love's fire
Who cares if that ends up being on my tombstone
-
Not saying I would mind a true life partner
Someone I love in every way infact
Someone who inspires me to live so much larger
I wouldn't mind granted they felt that way back
-
But the idea of needing someone by your side
To prove to the world that your life is fulfilled
It's something to look past in everyday life
Even if nobody's there to help pay your bills
-
I say that in life we should love freely without shame
Friends, family, and others deserve love just the same.
