The Rescue

Lying on the cement floor, alone and shaken,

a dog that would soon be taken to her forever home,

one who had been cast away to suffer but was given a second chance.

Walking into the rescue shelter,

a girl who just needed a friend

had found just what she desired.

Piper and Lauren,

a dog and a girl,

a bond that can never be broken.
