RESCUED
Rescued
© 2012 Mekos Simpson
I’ve been waiting here it seem like for the longest.
I out lasted many others, so that would make me stronger.
Deep within I mustered up the muscles to over come being ridiculed.
Hoping and praying that someone like me could be rescued.
Down with feeling abandoned, lonely, and fear.
Crossing out every option to not cry with painful tears.
Finished my race exhausted and looking pitiful.
Still I’ve been waiting to be rescued.
Feeling the hunger pains of nourishment.
Sleepless nights of punishment.
Waving frequently, I was told that I would be rescued.
Drowning in a sea of emotional distress.
I figured from this point on I would no longer be a mess.
Damped with love, but still in a pool.
Consider me a fool, I’m still waiting to be rescued.
