Resentment, Is All I Have Left for Her
Fighting for her love, but instead
She intoxicates me, with her
discomfort, pain, disgust, & heartache!
She leaned on my heart,
Pressure I couldn’t handle!
Resentment, is all I have left for her. Like a pit bull turning on its master with a bitterful bite!
She tried her hardest to keep him away from me!
Cussing, arguing, emptiness ….is all I heard from her lips.
Cold as ice, hard as a rock; it seemed was her heart.
She knew my love for him was greater, powerful.
We were so intertwined, he was my sun, & I was his moon!
The sky was ours!
I was his little flower and he was my tree trunk!
Lifted upon his shoulders, I felt like I was flying,
I was free!
She hated it; she couldn’t stand the smiles on our faces!
Resentment is all I have left for her!
You don’t know what it’s like to love someone, & them love you back!
To watch them get hurt and you can’t do anything about it.
You can’t stop it, because you’re paralyzed from the neck down.
She lied ……. She lied!
Resentment is all I have left for her.
She can no longer keep us apart, because,
We are together again. She can no longer hate our smiling faces!
He is again my sun, & I am his moon! The sky is again ours!
Again, he is my tree trunk.
Lifted upon his shoulders again,
I am flying ……
Freely!
