Resignation

Work so hard and the days fly by

Acids and bases, Cosine and Tangent

Absolute answer to the 5 W questions;

except for the why.

But do you remember the days

that didn't pass so fast?

The ones where your dreams were something you could reach?

Like that fruit you caught rolling off the counter

Because of you, a still edible peach

A story you wrote when you were a little kid

doesn't seem important now

Grandma wanted to publish it

but didn't know how

The plot seems silly looking back

A southern white girl running away to war

because she thought it was okay to be black?

She supported the union along with civil rights

Pretty funny how nowadays it's clear;

people aren't keen to moral fights.

Even after journalism class in high school

And a published and praised article

I still chose money as my life tool

After my childhood, I found that for me,

being poor isn't an option. Life ain't free.

That sucks and it isn't fair. However it's the truth

Self-absorption will always be there

We're scared of our dreams and how big they are

I just know that script will always be in my heart

The rhythm and the love and the passion that ride along

To me, writing is music and poetry is my favorite song.
