Resiliance

Some say I am strong, others say brave

But I believe we are all.

I have spoken the words others are afraid to speak,

I have done what is right.

Others have not dared.

I have fought the fears of many people,

Struggling with my own.

I speak because other woman cannot,

I listen because ears have closed on those who cry out

And I fight for those who are too tired of the agony.

I can be the revolution,

Yet there is no I in we.

We are the revolution.

We, The fighters against the world’s many errors,

The fighters who believe ALL power to ALL the people.

The generation that is not heroes, but mettlesome,

We are the change we wish to see.

You and I are fighting the fears of others,

In life that beams privilege,

The battle between the obtuse ethics of our population and us.

Yet I fear not speaking to those who believe I am unequal,

To the men who oppress women,

The bigots who speak down on my heritage,

Nor the close minded, who believe they are right

Because they have lived a life served and pampered.

I am not only overcoming my fear,

Believing all that I am,

A women and minority,

But I am other's fear.

I'm am fear to those who are threatened by an uproar,

The cowards who watch the world immerse in hatred

And those who fear change and Renaissance.

When they knock me down with bigotry and loathing,

I will stand up,

Unafraid,

Hand in Hand with my fellow brothers and sisters.

Resilient
